Shadows at the end of the garden

Today the sky is overcast, so I am looking through my photos looking for the sun and shadows...

Santa Claus and the red ribbon

I have decided that when I have my beautiful huge house, I will have my xmas room: a special place with all kinds of xmas decorations, ribbons, wrapped gifts, and some cakes, so when I feel a bit down or simply want to escape the daily routine, I will spend some time in this magical room where every day is xmas.

Yummy treats to hang on the xmas tree

Yummy display at the garden centre

Yeah! This is the kind of display I love, such abundance makes me cheerful!

Ethereal fuchsia

Beautifully ethereal light on the lilac and white fuchsia!

At the antiques shop

I don't like watches, but I do like these old fashioned ones, they make me think of the White Rabbit in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, when he rushes around saying out loud: "Oh! Dear! Oh Dear I shall be late!"

I was thinking about Florence...

I was thinking about Venice...

...and while I was going through my photo files I found this shot I took at the Cini Foundation, a stunning setting. I remember hearing the echo of piano playing, someone was practising for a forthcoming piano competition on the Island of San Giorgio. I remember that while I was listening to the music, I was walking past a large room where the window was wide open and long white organza-like curtains were floating,...I now wonder whether it was just a dream, too beautiful to be real!

At the villa

I took this photograph at a villa in Marostica, northern Italy. These young dancers were about to go on stage; they will always look to me like fairies moving gracefully from one room to the other, forever beautiful and untouched by the passage of time...

A white cloud and a spot of red

Petals and leaning stems

A dot in the sky

I am sure it was a bird flying out of the frame and not a speckle of dust on my lense, it is right there on the edge. I caught it just in time, perhaps I didn't even notice it while I was taking the photograph, I was so focused on the flower...
